Habitats: Damp woodland rides and clearings, scrubby wetland and meadows.
Habits: The moth flies during the day in warm weather. It feeds on the pollen of Dog's Mercury, buttercups, Marsh-marigold and sedges. It avoids hot sunshine.
Foodplant: The larvae feed on the young growth of Wood-sedge and other herbaceous plants. The larvae prefer moist dark conditions.
