Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms a slender gallery mine in a birch leaf that hardly widens and mostly follows a vein over a long distance. It will cross thick veins and even the midrib. The early part of the mine is full of scattered green frass. It pupates in a cocoon in the soil.
