Habitats: Woodland, heathland, downland and marshes.

Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks during the day and flies in the late afternoon.

Foodplant: A blotch in the tip of a Hawthorn leaf segment without any preceding gallery mine. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
