Habitats: Deciduous woodland, heathland and acid grassland.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva forms a contorted gallery leading to an irregular blotch in a leaf of Bilberry or Bog Bilberry. The mined leaves turn purple. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
