Habitats: Wherever oaks are present.

Habits:

Foodplant: The first generation larva forms a short, broad, contorted gallery mine with a broad line of frass, usually on the underside of an oak leaf. The second generation larva forms a similar, but longer gallery with a finer line of frass. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
