Habitats: Deciduous woodland, woodland rides and margins.
Habits: It can be recorded by beating the foodplant.
Foodplant: The larva forms a contorted gallery mine in the smooth young bark of branches and thin trunks of oaks growing in sunshine. Full fed larvae have been recorded in May and June.
