Habitats: Deciduous woodland, parks, poplar plantations and mature hedgerows with trees.
Habits:
Foodplant: On the European mainland the larva mines the underside of a leaf of Aspen or sometimes Grey Poplar, White Poplar, Black Poplar or Chinese Poplar. It has a fairly large oval mine with one or two central creases. The mine eventually changes from green to a pinkish colour. The pupa is in a large white cocoon in the mine with the frass clumped to one side.
