Habitats: Gardens, fens and marshes.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives in a slight web on Dame's-violet. It feeds (sometimes gregariously) on the leaves and terminal shoots which are drawn together. It pupates in an open netted cocoon under a leaf or in the leaf litter.
