Similar species:

Forewing: 5 to 7mm

Habitats: Damp pasture, marshes, fens, mosses and bogs.

Habits: The moth flies in sunshine and is easily disturbed in the day.

Foodplant: The early stages are not well recorded. The larva is thought to bore down the inside of the stems of rushes.
