Habitats: Downland.

Habits: The moth rests on its foodplant and flies in sunshine.

Foodplant: The larva mines a lower leaf of a young plant of Ploughman's-spikenard in April and early May, completely hollowing it out. It then moves to a fresh leaf via the petiole. It pupates in a cocoon at the base of a leaf.
