Habits: The moth flies in sunshine between sunrise and mid morning.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a slight web within drier decaying wood under the bark or in standing dead branches of Beech, oaks, gorse and Ivy trunks. It pupates in a flimsy silk cocoon under bark.
