Habits: The males assemble to females in morning sunshine. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds within decaying wood at the base of hedgerows, including broken Blackthorn stems, dead brambles, Hazel, sallows and other dead wood. It may have a two year lifecycle. It pupates in a yellowish almost oval cocoon in the feeding place.
