Habitats: Dry rough grassland and hedgerow verges.
Habits: The moth flies in the afternoon. It has not been recorded in Britain since 1890.
Foodplant: The larva feeds (often gregariously), on the spun flowers and umbels of Wild Carrot and sometimes Wild Parsnip, Burnet-saxifrage and Milk Parsley. It pupates in the earth or in the leaf litter.
