Habitats: Dry grassland, embankments and marshes.
Habits: The moth can be disturbed in the late afternoon. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Common Bird's-foot Trefoil or rarely Greater Bird's-foot Trefoil, medicks and clovers and possibly Common Rock-rose,. The larva at first makes a small irregular blotch mine, but soon moves on to feeding between spun leaves. It pupates in a sparse silk spinning in a shoot or in the leaf litter.
