Habits: The moth flies in the morning on sunny days and can be disturbed or swept in warm weather. It sometimes rests on tree trunks. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a vertical silk tube in a moss. It is known to feed on Heath Plait-moss Hypnum jutlandicum, Bog Groove-moss Aulacomnium palustre and Springy Turf-moss Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus. It pupates in a silk cocoon in the larval gallery.
