Similar species:
Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm
Habitats: The Scottish site was mixed dry heathland, that had been burnt in the previous year. It is suggested the ground should be dry and sandy as the larva makes 'sandy tubes' on the ground.
Habits: All confirmed records were from Granish Moor, Aviemore between 1907 and 1909.
Foodplant: The early stages were not recorded in Scotland. On the European mainland it is recorded as feeding in a sandy silk gallery under the soil level, mining leaves of Mountain Everlasting from the underside.
