Forewing: 6 to 7mm

Habitats: Coastal shingle, sand beaches and grass along the high tide line.

Habits: Rarely seen in the wild.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in most parts of the stems of Curled Dock and Broad-leaved Dock. Its presence can be detected by pale brown frass ejected from holes at the stem nodes. It pupates in the stem a small hole indicates its presence. In Latvia it has been found on Asian Dock along river-banks (a rare introduction in Britain).
