Habitats: The known British specimens were from two coastal and one inland site, but in Europe it is known from mountainous areas.
Habits: Three British moths known from misidentified museum specimens at Dartford Heath, Kent in 1850, Benfleet, Essex in 1899, Erith Marshes, Kent in 1926.
Foodplant: On the European mainland it feeds on Blue Fleabane, Purple Colt's-foot, False Aster and Alpine Aster making a blotch mine on the leaves.
