Similar species:

Forewing: 5 to 7mm

Habitats: Mostly coastal shingle and rocky sea cliffs, but also an inland disused lead mine.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on Sea Campion. The young larva feeds in spun shoots and leaves, sometimes spinning down into the stones below and causing the shoots to wither. On the European mainland it is also recorded feeding on Alpine Catchfly, Nottingham Catchfly, Field Mouse-ear, Common Chickweed, pinks, Sand Spurrey and Tunic Flower.
