Forewing: 5 to 6mm

Habitats: Deciduous woodland, hedgerows, gardens and other sites where the foodplants are present.

Habits: The moth can be a pest in gardens.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on wild and garden roses and occasionally Wild Strawberry. It at first mines the leaves, using them to make a bivalved flat serrated case which can be found by searching for bleached leaves or leaves with pale patches.
