Habitats: Deciduous woodland, hedgerows, gardens and other sites where the foodplants are present.
Habits: The moth can be a pest in gardens.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on wild and garden roses and occasionally Wild Strawberry. It at first mines the leaves, using them to make a bivalved flat serrated case which can be found by searching for bleached leaves or leaves with pale patches. The spring case is more cylindrical bivalved and has a serrated edge and is 6 to 7mm long, m.o. at a 60° angle. It usually pupates on a stem.
