Habitats: Downland, verges, embankments, rough pasture, disused quarries, wasteland and other sites where the foodplants are present.
Habits: The moth is diurnal and flies in sunshine. It also comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva bores through the florets and feeds on the unripe seeds of White Clover. In the fourth instar it uses a browned clover floret to form a case. The final case is about 6mm long. It pupates on the ground.
