Habitats: Chalk downland.
Habits: The moth is diurnal and flies among flowers.
Foodplant: The larva bores a succession of seedpods to feed on the unripe seeds of Kidney Vetch. This is done without a case as this is probably not made until the fourth and last instar. The case is made inside a calyx, sometimes with the floret still intact. The hairy case is about 7.5mm long, m.o. at a 40° angle. The larva overwinters full-fed. The pupation site is not recorded.
