Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the seeds of Sea Aster. It feeds hidden in the pappus. The final brown silk, trivalved case is cigar-shaped with slight lengthways ridges. It is 6mm long, m.o. at a 80° to 90° angle. In late October the full-fed larva leaves the plant to overwinter in the leaf litter.
