Similar species: The adult is grey-brown with white veins along the costa and dark ringed antennae, but there are similar species so please check the genitalia.
Forewing: 5 to 6mm
Habitats: It is found in sandy places such as wasteland. It is local from Sweden, south to Spain and the Mediterranean, across to Russia.
Habits: The first record was on Guernsey in 2022. The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Smooth Rupturewort Herniaria glabra and Hairy Rupturewort Herniaria hirsuta from a pale grey, tubular, trivalved silken case about 7mm long with a M.O of 45°. It is sprinkled with grains of sand.
