Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva mines a leaf of Common Couch or Lyme Grass. It forms an under surface, gallery mine from the base of the leaf. It is slightly inflated and widening, with the scattered frass mainly in the lower third. The larva is a dirty white colour. The mottled prothoracic plate is divided and has two subrectangular sclerites. The pupation site is not recorded.
