Habitats: Both damp and dry habitats, depending on the foodplant.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva lives in the spun shoots of Great Willowherb and sometimes Marsh Willowherb, Broad-leaved Willowherb or an evening primrose. The larva is pale yellow with a black head, dark grey prothoracic plate and thoracic legs and a grey-brown anal plate. It pupates in a white cocoon in the spun shoot.
