Habitats: Open woodland, downland scrub and hedgerows.
Habits: The moth flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the spun flowers and ripening berries of White Bryony, leaving only the skins. It then spins a leaf to a stem. In September the full-fed larva overwinters in a dense silk cocoon in the earth, where it pupates in April.
