Similar species: Strophedra weirana has a different spacing of the leading edge striations.
Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm
Habitats: Woodland and hedgerows.
Habits: The moth flies around the tops of oaks, in the morning, the afternoon and again in the evening. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva probably feeds on the shoots of oaks and Hawthorn, although on the European mainland it is said to feed on Wild Plum and other species of Prunus.
