Similar species:

Forewing: 11.5 to 17mm

Habitats: Allotments, gardens, open woodland and hedgerows.

Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light. It was first recorded in Kent in 1982, but has since been recorded in Norfolk.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on the unripe fruit of Gooseberry, Red Currant or Black Currant. It constructs a spinning over the berries which is speckled with grey-brown frass. It pupates in a pale grey, sparse silk cocoon.
