Habitats:

Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light. A colony on the Canary Islands may be the source of the Immigrants in Britain.

Foodplant: The early stages of this species from the Far East are unknown in Britain. In Europe it has been recorded from the Canary Island Date Palm Phoenix canariensisand Trachycarpus spp. (which are cultivated in Britain) and possibly sedges. In Australia it is a pest of palms where it bores into the shoots.
