Forewing: 14 to 16mm

Habitats: Beech woodland, parks, Beech avenues, hedgerows with trees and occasionally gardens.

Habits: The moth is rarely found at rest on vegetation during the day. It flies from dusk and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on Beech and occasionally on Sweet Chestnut. It pupates attached to a Beech leaf or stem by a silk girdle.
