Similar species: Both Oblique Striped Phibalapteryx virgata and Oblique Carpet Orthonama vittata have dark apical streaks.

Forewing: 11 to 12mm

Habitats: Fens and wet meadows.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The early stages do not appear to have been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland it feeds on Heath Bedstraw and other bedstraws.
