Habitats: Woodland rides and margins, calcareous downland and downland scrub, mature hedgerows, calcareous embankments, sea-cliffs and sand-dunes.
Habits: The moth flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Hedge Bedstraw and Lady's Bedstraw. In captivity it will accept Cleavers. It pupates just under the soil surface or in the leaf litter.
