Habitats: Fens, marshes, wet meadows, river-banks and the banks of ditches.
Habits: The moth flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the ripening seeds of Common Meadow-rue and sometimes Lesser Meadow-rue. It prefers plants that are not competing with taller vegetation. It pupates in the leaf litter or under the soil.
