Immigrant

Similar species: Tan at the base and grey in the outer area of the forewing divided by almost straight line running from three-quarters along the leading edge to half on the trailing edge makes this moth distinctive.

Forewing: 10 to 13mm

Habitats: On the European mainland it is found in dry scrub and damp woodland.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on Pellitory-of-the-wall and sometimes Common Nettle.
