Habitats: Coastal undercliff, rocky slopes and vegetated shingle. Also inland quarries.
Habits: The moth comes to light and sugar.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on algae and lichens on rocks and similar substrates. It is also reported feeding on Bird's-foot Trefoil and other legumes. It pupates under a stone, under wood or in a rock crevice.
