73.014 Golden Plusia Polychrysia moneta (Fabricius, 1787)

Habitats: Open woodland, parks and gardens.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on garden Delphinium, Larkspur or Monk's-hood. It initially feeds in a web on the flowers and unripe seeds, then later on the leaves. When larger it rests under a leaf. In captivity it will accept Wormwood and Mugwort. It pupates in a yellow cocoon on the underside of a lower leaf.

On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on Wormwood, Mugwort and Globe Flower.
