Similar species: This moth is unlikely to be mistaken for any other British or Irish species.

Forewing: 10 to 11mm

Habitats: Breckland, fallow fields, sandy heathland, field margins and verges.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from the foodplant during the day. It flies in the late afternoon and after dark it comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on the flowers and leaves of Field Bindweed. It pupates in an earth covered cocoon under the soil.

On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on Hedge Bindweed Calystegia sepium.
