Similar species: This moth is unlikely to be mistaken for any other British or Irish species.

Forewing: 12 to 15mm

Habitats: Warm, rocky slopes and gardens.

Habits: The moth comes to light. The only British record of this southern European species was from Brighton, Sussex in September 1896.

Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva feeds on Snapdragon or toadflaxes and on Grand Canaria a fluellen Kickxia scoparia.
