Similar species: Double Kidney Ipimorpha retusa has a darker forewing with a concave or hooked outer edge. The cross-lines lead inward towards the trailing edge while staying almost parallel.
Forewing: 14 to 16mm
Habitats: Deciduous woodland, parkland, amenity planting, water margins, poplar plantations, shelterbelts, marshes and gardens.
Habits: The moth visits honetdew and sugar and comes sparingly to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in a shelter of spun leaves of Aspen or other poplars, usually high in the tree.
