Similar species: Archer's Dart Agrotis vestigialis is smaller (14 to 18mm) with a less pointed forewing and some grey on the hindwing (not just white). The males feathering on the antennae of Archer's Dart does not run as far towards the tip.

Habitats: Coastal sand-dunes.
Habits: The moth is attracted to sugar and light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Tuberous Hawk's-beard, scabious, plantains and docks. It probably pupates under the soil in an earthen cocoon as with similar species.
