Habitats: Open woodland and scrub woodland. The species is sparsely widespread across southern Europe from France, Spain, Italy and Greece, north to the Alps and east to Asia Minor.
Habits: First recorded in Britain at Weymouth, Dorset on 13th December 2021. The moth flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larvae feed on Holm Oak, Kermes Oak Quercus coccifera and other oaks. It pupates in a dense white cocoon on a stem or under a leaf of the foodplant.
