Similar species: A clue to the identity of this species is that the lattice markings appear to radiate in rows from near the base of the forewing. To confirm the identity check the genitalia.
Forewing: 4.5 to 6.5mm
Habitats: Birch scrub on heathland and woodland.
Habits: The moth flies in sunshine.
Foodplant: The larva makes a blotch mine starting at the edge of a birch leaf. It is sometimes enlarged by several larvae in the same leaf.
