Similar species:

Forewing: 2.5 to 3mm

Habitats: Deciduous woodland.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva forms a broad gallery mine in a leaf of Hornbeam. The mine is similar to that of Stigmella floslactella, except its direction is usually determined by the leaf venation. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
