Similar species:

Forewing: 2 to 2.5mm

Habitats: Downland, dry pasture, enbankments and verges.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva forms a long narrow gallery mine in a leaf of Common Bird's-foot Trefoil or other bird's-foot trefoils. This abruptly widens into a blotch that usually starts at the base of the leaflet and may eventually occupy almost an entire leaflet. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter on the soil surface.
