Habitats: Deciduous woodland and parkland.
Habits: The moth rests on a trunk during the day.
Foodplant: The larva forms a narrow gallery mine running along a vein in an oak leaf. It usually leads to the angle between a vein and the midrib where it widens into a blotch. There is often a slit underneath allowing frass to empty from the blotch. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
