Forewing: 2.5 to 3mm
Habitats: Deciduous woodland and parkland.
Habits: The moth rests on a trunk during the day.
Foodplant: The larva forms a narrow gallery mine running along a vein in an oak leaf. It widens into a blotch laying against the vein and the midrib. Unlike the blotch of Ectoedemia subbimaculella there is no slit under it. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
