Similar species:

Forewing: 4.5 to 6mm

Habitats: Damp pasture, water-meadows, Scottish mosses, Irish peat-bogs.

Habits: The moth flies in sunshine. It can often be found on the foodplants from late morning until early afternoon.

Foodplant: The larva at first feeds on the seeds of Lady's Smock or probably Garlic Mustard, Hedge Mustard, Winter-cress and European Searocket. It then feeds under the plant on the lower leaves from a case made from soil particles, plant debris and silk. It pupates in the case.
