Habitats: Woodland edge and clearings, downland or wherever the foodplants is found.
Habits: The moth rests on the flowers of Germander Speedwell and flies in sunshine.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the seeds in a seed-capsule of Germander Speedwell or occasionally Heath Speedwell. It then feeds below the plant on the lower leaves from a case made of concentrically arranged particles of plant debris. It pupates in the case.
