Habitats: Woodland clearings and margins, scrub, breckland, downland, marshes and sand-dunes.
Habits: The moth will come to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the seeds of Wild Privet and possibly Sea Buckthorn, Ash and elms. It later lives in a dark case made from soil and frass while feeding on dead leaves on the ground. It pupates in a sparse cocoon in its case just below the soil suface.
